Job Description

Position:	Extruder Operator
Position Summary:	The Extruder Operator is responsible for the consistent operation of the extruder and efficiently producing a quality product.

Primary Responsibilties:

Start up-follow set up sheet, document changes
Maintenance-Fill out PM sheets
1st piece Inspection – continuous inspection
Operation and controls
Machine change over
Die cleaning and die adjustments
Screen changes
Trouble shooting
Purge and cleaning
Shutdown
Read Bill of Materials (picklist)
Adhere to production schedule
Material mixing
Completing necessary paperwork
Scrap reporting
Quality inspection
Machine cleaning
Area cleaning
Follow established company policies
Follow established health and safety procedures
Fill out proper documentation ie. traveler, production ticket, daily product. Report
Production of product to meet specifications
Perform measurement verification with micrometer, caliper and pin gages
Responsible for setup of all related productions in extruder area
Follow applicable work instruction
Communicate with supervisor and other employees

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Machine operation experience preferred
Ability to complete tasks independently
Work independently, frequent communication with supervisor
Ability to perform basic math calculations and weight conversions
Dependently and ability to adapt to change are essential
Ability to read, write and communicate in English

Environmental Requirements:

Limited temperature fluctuations, air conditioned environment

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for at least 4 hour at a time
Have normal eye/hand motor coordination and the ability to grasp and hold small objects
Possess a normal extended reach
Consistently uses manual dexterity
Must be able to transport, lift and demonstrate materials, product and equipment weighing up to 20 lbs.
